50/50 Quorn & Beef Bolognaise

Difficulty: Easy

Serves: 75 Primary School or 50 Senior School

Ingredients

 Diced Onions – 1kg

Diced Carrots – 1kg

Quorn Mince – 1.5kg

Beef Mince – 1.5kg

Mixed Herbs – 15g

Garlic Powder – 10g

Chopped Tomatoes – 6kg

Tomato Puree – 120g

Beef Bouillon – 90g

Boiling Water – 2.25 litres

Method

 

1. Dry fry the beef mince until sealed. Add the diced onions and diced carrots and cook for 5 minutes, until soft.

2. Add the mixed herbs, garlic, tomato puree, chopped tomatoes. 

3. Make up the stock with the bouillon and boiling water and add to the pan. Simmer for 30 minutes.

4. Add the quorn mince and continue to cook for a further 10 minutes. Check the seasoning.

5 Serve with Spaghetti or pasta of your choice.
