Martin – “Introducing new menus with an emphasis on plant-based dishes is crucial. Beyond the popular Meat-free Monday, making a conscious effort to reduce the amount of meat in our diets is one of the best ways to improve children’s long-term health and make a positive contribution to the fight against climate change.”

Tom – “Our online training platform helps schools significantly lower the environmental impact of their training programs. By removing the need for travel and reducing reliance on paper and other physical materials, it supports more sustainable practices. The platform delivers engaging training for staff, offers full progress tracking for clients, and provides schools with the confidence that their teams are well-supported. For catering managers, it eliminates administrative burdens—freeing them to focus on what they do best: preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for pupils.”

Clean and Green

As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we’ve teamed up with Trust Hygiene to introduce a new range of eco-friendly cleaning products. Made from plant-based, biodegradable ingredients, they’re safer for people, wildlife, and waterways – yet still deliver a powerful clean. It’s a small change with a big impact, helping us keep our school kitchens hygienically clean while protecting the planet.

Simpler Recycling

The introduction of the new Simpler Recycling legislation was a significant change for schools across England. Thanks to our team’s expertise and forward-thinking approach, we were able to brief our schools on the requirements well ahead of the official date. We guided them through the process, from understanding the new food waste separation rules to implementing effective signage and collection systems. This proactive support meant that by the time the new rules were active, our schools were already running compliant and efficient recycling programs.

Green Audit

Adding an environmental checklist to our Unit Visit Report was a crucial step for creating a more sustainable catering operation and culture. This practice goes beyond traditional hygiene and safety checks to actively measure and improve the catering service’s environmental impact. The results of this audit are not just operational; they serve as a powerful educational tool, engaging catering teams in sustainability efforts. Ultimately, this approach not only helps the planet but also leads to significant cost savings through greater efficiency and enhances the school’s reputation as being responsible and forward-thinking.
