Vegan Plant Balls with Tomato and Chilli Sauce

Meat free balls made with textured pea protein and oyster mushrooms served with a tomato and chilli ragu.

Serves: 10

Ingredients

  • Plant balls – 30
  • Spaghetti – 800g
  • Olive oil – 20ml
  • Garlic – 2 tsp
  • Onion – 1
  • Chilli flakes – 1 tsp
  • Chopped tomatoes – 800g
  • Sugar – 1tbsp
  • Parsley -100g

Method

  1. Peel and finely dice the onion
  2. Add the spaghetti and cook as per manufacturer’s instructions
  3. Heat the oil in a pan and add the onion, fry gently and add the garlic and chilli
  4. Stir in the tomatoes and sugar and simmer for 10 mins
  5. Add the plant balls and simmer for 10 mins
  6. Drain the spaghetti and serve with the plant balls
  7. Finish with chopped parsley
